info

Fast mode is instant and works on any image size. AI mode reconstructs real detail using a neural network running on your device's CPU (no GPU needed) — it downloads a small model on first use and can take anywhere from several seconds to a minute or more, so it's limited to images up to 1200px on the longest side.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between Fast and AI mode?expand_more

Fast mode resizes your image using high-quality browser interpolation with a light sharpening pass — instant, but it can't invent detail that isn't there. AI mode runs a neural network (ESRGAN) trained to reconstruct plausible fine detail and texture, giving noticeably sharper results on photos and graphics, at the cost of speed.

Why is AI mode limited to smaller images?expand_more

The AI model runs entirely on your device's CPU, since this tool doesn't use any server or GPU. Larger images would take a very long time or could run out of memory in the browser tab, so we cap input size to keep AI mode reliable on all devices.

Is my image uploaded to a server?expand_more

No. Both modes run entirely in your browser. In AI mode, only the neural network model itself (a few MB) is downloaded from a public CDN on first use — your image is never transmitted anywhere.
